
We loved it as a child. Flying a bright colored kite in the local park or open field and watching it glide across the deep blue sky. Well the hobby is still as strong as ever, but in Lake Tahoe, it’s done with a twist. Snow kiting is quickly becoming a growing sport in the Lake Tahoe area and beyond.
On a recent Saturday, close to 100 people stopped by to better understand what all the colorful kites were doing in the air. Many of them stayed to participate in free beginner lessons and demoed specialized kiting gear.
