Meeks Bay Resort

Meeks Bay Marina Lake Tahoe

There are very few places in Tahoe that have what Meeks Bay Resort has, if any.

The beach is less that 150 yards from the campsites, there is a general store on-site, a snack bar on the beach, outstanding hiking across the street, boat rentals, and a fantastic family atmosphere.

The water here is outstanding, crystal clear with a warm sheltered area that almost guarantees it will be among the warmest in the basin.

The camping itself is also first rate, the spaces are close together, but with the great family atmosphere it just makes it easier to meet people.

This is probably why it is nearly impossible to get a reservation once the summer has started. Showers and flush toilets are included.

For those looking for a little more comfort there is also lodging available, ranging from motel rooms, to cabins, to the historic Kehlet Mansion.

Meeks Bay was once the summer home of the Washoe Tribe. It is currently managed by the Washoe under a special use permit from the forest service.
