Visitors to scenic Lake Tahoe should not miss a wonderful and cultural experience this weekend – Wa She Shu It Deh Native American Festival.

The Wa She Shu It Deh Native American Festival is one of Lake Tahoe’s most notable cultural events. The event will take place at the Valhalla Arts, Music and Theatre Festival on July 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m on both days.

There is so much to do and see. A few of the activities include a basket weaving competition, traditional dance, native artists and performers, native film festival, hand game tournament, as well as terrific raffle prizes and wonderful food!

The Wa She Shu It Deh Native American Festival is a rare cultural event for families and people of all ages can enjoy.

“The Wa She Shu It Deh Tribe’s history dates back an estimated 9,000 years in the Lake Tahoe Basin,” said Lori Cramer, executive director of the non-profit Tahoe Tallac Association. “We’re helping to celebrate their culturally rich history by recognizing both California and Nevada Washoe Tribes of Nevada with an annual festival that’s free to all.”

The event is free of charge and located right on the gorgeous shores of alpine Lake Tahoe at the historic Tallac Site, which is the proud home of the Valhalla Arts, Music and Theatre Festival.

It’s time again for North Lake Tahoe to come alive with ten fun-filled days and nights, jam packed with events and fun activities for all ages.

Since 1982, North Lake Tahoe hosts its annual celebration called Snowfest. This year marks the 29th event that has a simple goal – to have fun in the snow. The snow festival runs from March 5 – 14.

As the Vancouver Winter Olympics ends, people are in mood to have fun, enjoy the snow and participate in a variety of outdoor snow events, listen to great music and enjoy fabulous food.

The event will be enjoyed by thousands of people and it all begins this Friday, March 5th at 6:30pm at Squaw Valley USA.

The opening ceremonies will dazzle spectators with a laser light show, fireworks, a torch light parade, plus lots of live music in Squaw’s Olympic plaza.

One of the most enjoyable events is the Extreme Food Challenge. It will be held Friday from 4:00-6:00 in Mamasake Patio in the Village at Squaw. Contestants will test their stomach strength while enduring a variety of bizarre food from around the world.

Saturday is “Toyota’s Sick ‘n’ Twisted Freestyle Tour-rail Jam”. The event to people of all skill levels.

Also on Saturday is the popular Snowfest Parade. Starting at 11:30am, viewers will enjoy a variety of crazy costumes and characters strolling down North Lake Tahoe Boulevard.
