2018 Winter Olympics Games Coming to Lake Tahoe?

Summer and Winter Olympics come and go.  The memories of personal achievements and world records last a lifetime. But how about the economical impact to the Olympic host city? Well the results have been mixed. Salt Lake City and Los Angeles claim it wasn’t wonderful.

Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe hosted the 1960 Winder Olympic Games. The results were quite different. The widening of Hwy 50, extending I-80 between Sacramento and Reno, the new Reno Airport, hotel and casino traffic, etc… It’s time again to think of the Olympics in the Sierras. Efforts to attract the 2018 Winter Olympics games to the Reno/Lake Tahoe/Carson City area are under way.  Full article
