Majestic Truckee River

Located in the Tahoe National, the impressive Truckee River’s crystalline waters originate at alpine blue, Lake Tahoe.
The Truckee River begins at Tahoe City’s famous “Fanny Bridge”. The river ends about one hundred and ten miles later at Pyramid Lake. The Truckee River is filled with Trout and dogs are allowed off leash along the river. Head north on Hwy 267, take a right on Glenshire Drive, go 4.5 miles and cross the Glenshire Bridge, take a sharp right after the bridge on the dirt road and park near the river.
The Truckee River encompasses an area of approximately 3,060 square miles in the states of California and Nevada. The basin stretches in a generally north by northeast direction.

Indigo Restaurant and Bar

In 2007, Lori Baxter started up the Indigo Restaurant and Bar in Minden, near Lake Tahoe.
The Indigo’s décor combines “uptown” with a relaxed atmosphere. Tables are set with black and white accents against soft tones of grays and pastels. The variety of the menu reflects the merging of different tastes.
“I started the Indigo because I am passionate about food, I’m an entrepreneur and I love people,” Baxter said. “The Indigo joins all my loves — good food that is eclectic, business and people.”

Stateline Fire Lookout - Incredible Lake Tahoe Views

Stateline Fire Lookout is hard to find but well worth the effort. To reach the lookout, don’t waste time looking for signs.
Once you reach the facility that straddles the California/Nevada border is definitely the best high-elevation vantage point (7,017 feet) on Lake Tahoe’s north shore.
Once you reach the top, you will enjoy spectacular vistas of Crystal Bay and Brockway beaches, along with the entire Tahoe basin and its watershed.
It’s a fairly easy hike to the top. A short fifteen minute hike from the fire road will lead you to the historic Stateline Point Lookout.

Secret Beach

Secret Beach is a pristine place with lots of boulders to climb, rocks to skip and beach to stroll.
Reaching Secret Beach isn’t too difficult. It’s an easy mountain bike ride or hike four miles in the forest will lead you to one of the most amazing alpine beaches in existence.
Rock gardens of Secret Beach are scattered around the shoreline in the shallow water which appears to be Caribbean blue and is obviously crystal clear.

Silver Belt Banzai at Sugar Bowl Resort

Starting atop Sugar Bowl’s famed Silver Belt run, skiers will test their skills on this spectator-friendly course, racing out of the gate in six-man heats with rules being to simply stay on-course and finish in the top two to advance.
